As gas prices continue to rise vacationers are looking for a little relief...and participating Big Bear Lake Resort Association lodges are only too happy to oblige by offering up to $100 in free fuel!
Stay in a BBLRA member lodge and receive a free gas card to help you get to Southern California’s favorite four season resort as part of the “Tank Away” promotion. Those who stay one or two nights get a $25 card as part of a long-running promotion, but now three or four night stays get $50, and five or more nights receive $100 gas cards.
“We felt the only way to fight the gas price war is to up the ante on our gas cards,” BBLRA’s Ken Brengle says. “We figure guests who stay three or more nights should receive more value. What better way than to fill up their gas tanks?
The scenery along Big Bear’s mountain highways is worth the drive here in itself. Fresh air, blue skies, green pines, blooming wildflowers and mellow temperatures combine to deliver a great drive with a gas card reward at the end. Favorite spring and summer activities include boating, hiking, off-roading, horseback riding, mountain biking and golf.
In 2008 the fishing season figures to get an extra boost because the lake is near full, just three-plus feet down at press time. “We may have some guests use their gas cards to fill up fishing boats,” Brengle says.
The free gas promotion begins April 20 and continues through November 23 (nonholiday). Minimum stays vary per lodge, and the free gas promotion must be mentioned when booking.
